Champions League Rugby is South Africa’s premier private youth festival, bringing together the top 8 private franchises across Gauteng. Designed to mirror professional rugby formats, the festival offers high-intensity matchdays, real stakes, and national visibility — giving young players a genuine platform to showcase their skills.
Each CLR fixture is more than just a game — it’s an event. With music, food stalls, entertainment zones, and family-friendly experiences, our festival-style matchdays create a vibrant atmosphere where communities come together to support the future stars of South African rugby.
At CLR, every player goes through a structured pathway designed to unlock their potential and showcase their talent. Every CLR player gets exposure, measurable development, and a clear pathway into higher levels of rugby.
Players (and parents) sign up online to show interest, complete registration, and officially join the CLR development pathway. This creates their personal player profile in our database.
Each player undergoes our trademarked CLR Combine Testing — a series of rugby-specific athletic assessments measuring speed, agility, power, and endurance. Players receive a full athletic profile with results and scores. Based on their data, they’re given a tailored development program to improve specific areas of performance.
Players then join their CLR franchise team and compete in the league. While they play: Performance and testing data are continuously tracked. Coaches and scouts gain transparent access to progress reports. Players can see their growth through ongoing updates in their profile.
At CLR, every player gets more than just matches. We provide:

Personal development sessions (nutrition, mindset, leadership)
Visibility for scouts, Varsity Cup programs, and international academies
Players register online. Attend trials that include athleticism testing, skills drills & match simulations. Fair evaluation for every player.
